Your prayer

changes everything.

The Diocese of Cleveland needs more priests. Vocations begin in homes, parishes, classrooms, and prayer corners, wherever someone is praying that the Lord raise up holy men for His Church.
If you are a parent, grandparent, parishioner, or friend, this is where your role begins.
Your Role

Why it matters

Every priest can tell you about the people who carried him to the altar. A mother who prayed a rosary every day for years. A grandfather who never stopped asking. A pastor who suggested seminary at exactly the right moment. A friend who said the thing nobody else was willing to say.
If you sense that someone in your life might be hearing this call, you may be one of the people God is using to help him hear it more clearly or extend the invitation to consider the priesthood.

Pray With Us

Father, we ask you to raise up generations of saints in our priests and seminarians. Teach them to be patient and gentle with their humanity, always humbly submitting to Your mercy when they fall. Unite them so closely to Your heart that they too may be filled with fatherly compassion, understanding, and love for us, Your children.

May we never fail to support our priests and seminarians in prayer as they sacrifice and lay down their lives for us daily. We entrust our priests and seminarians to the loving and maternal care of Mother Mary and we ask all of this in the name of Your son, Jesus.

Father, thank you for the great gift of the children You have entrusted to our care in this world. Help us to model the Christian life faithfully to them. As they grow, give us wisdom to counsel them in Your ways. Grant us the grace to let go of our plans for their lives and to submit to Your will, which will fulfill the deepest desires of their heart.

We entrust our children to You this day and ask You to extend Your blessing over their lives. Please keep them ever close to Your heart. Stir up Your Holy Spirit within them that they may grow to be men and women of faith who embrace the call that You have placed upon their lives. May they one day be saints in heaven with You, Father.

Pray the Rosary with the following intentions for each decade, and conclude with the Prayer for Vocations by Pope John Paul II.

  • 1st Decade – For Holy Marriages and Families
  • 2nd Decade – For an Increase in Vocations – For Those Discerning But Not Yet in Formation
  • 3rd Decade – For Seminarians and Consecrated in Formation
  • 4th Decade – For All Consecrated Religious
  • 5th Decade – For All Priests and Bishops

Lord Jesus, as once you called the first disciples and made them fishers of men, continue to let resound today Your sweet invitation: “Come and follow me.”

Grant to men and women in our day the grace and trust to respond to Your voice. Sustain our bishops, priests and consecrated souls in their apostolic work.

Give perseverance to our seminarians and to all those living a life of total consecration to Your service.

Enkindle in our communities a missionary zeal. Send, Lord, workers into Your fields to feed and guide Your flock as Good Shepherds in imitation of You.

Mary, Mother of the Church, Model of Vocations, help us to say “Yes” to the Lord who calls each one of us to play our part in His plan of salvation.
